Deployment in 3 Simple Steps

From zero to automated rotations in minutes, not days.

1

Add Your Team

Add staff with their name, role, and mobile number. They'll log in via SMS code — no passwords for the on-call person to forget.

2

Build Your Rotation

Schedule shifts on a weekly calendar with start and end times. Quick-switch the active person any time without touching phone settings.

3

Calls Route Automatically

When a call comes in, NextOnCall checks who's on shift and connects them. If they don't answer, the call falls back to the account owner or voicemail.

Everything After-Hours Coverage Needs

One number in, the right person out — and a safety net under every call.

🔒

Caller ID Privacy

Calls are masked in both directions. Your staff's personal numbers stay private, and callers always see your business line.

🔁

Automatic Rotation

The schedule decides who answers. When a shift ends, routing switches to the next person — no phone-system changes, no forwarding chains to update.

🛡

Missed-Call Fallback

If the on-call person can't pick up, the call falls back to the account owner, then to voicemail. No call ever dead-ends.

🎤

Voicemail & Transcription

Missed calls leave a voicemail that's transcribed and delivered to the team, so the follow-up starts with context instead of a callback loop.

📱

iOS & Android Apps

On-call staff get shift reminders and push alerts on their own phone. Managers can quick-switch the active person from anywhere.

📊

Call History & Analytics

Every routed call is logged — who called, who answered, and when. See coverage gaps before they become complaints.

Frequently Asked Questions

The short version of how NextOnCall fits into your practice.

How does NextOnCall decide who gets the call?

Your weekly schedule does. When a call comes in, NextOnCall checks who's on shift right now and rings them. Managers can also quick-switch the active person at any moment — for a sick day or a trade — without touching the schedule or any phone-system settings.

What happens if the on-call person doesn't answer?

The call falls back automatically — first to the account owner, then to voicemail. Voicemails are transcribed and delivered to the team, so nothing lands in a black hole.

Do staff have to share their personal phone numbers?

Never with callers. Staff add their mobile number privately so NextOnCall can reach them, but caller ID is masked in both directions: callers see your business line, and your staff's numbers are never exposed.

What do on-call staff need to install?

The NextOnCall app for iOS or Android. They sign in with a one-time SMS code — no passwords to forget at 2 AM — and get shift reminders and push alerts on their own phone.

Do we keep our existing phone number?

Yes. Your account comes with a dedicated NextOnCall number, and most practices simply forward their existing after-hours line to it — your published number never changes. If you're not sure how your current phone system handles forwarding, email us and we'll figure it out with you.

Is there a contract?

No. Monthly plans are cancel-anytime. Annual billing is optional and simply costs less.

When can we sign up?
